Local Event Information Imagine a warm summer evening walk in the park with the camaraderie of family and friends. With each step you will be supporting children and adults with disabilities living in your community by raising awareness and dollars for Easter Seals Eastern Pennsylvania! Walk With Me is an opportunity for people, young and old, to get to know the families their dollars support while walking alongside the Easter Seals Eastern Pennsylvania 2008 Honorary Ambassadors. There will be plenty of time to meet and greet the Ambassadors and their families during the 1-mile and 3-mile Family Fun Walks. We hope you will join us the evening of Wednesday, June 18, 2008, in Allentown’s beautiful Lehigh Parkway. Check-in and registration begin at 5:00 p.m. when you’ll be treated to food and beverage along with a guest appearance from Ferrous, The Iron Pigs mascot. The walk, which starts at 6:15 p.m., takes you along a beautifully groomed walking path that caters to participants of all walking abilities. There is plenty of free parking and a crossing guard for extra help. Enter at Park Drive on the eastside of the Lehigh Parkway just off of S. Jefferson Street (also known as 15th Street). Whether you walk as an individual or a team, you will be partnered with an Easter Seals Honorary Ambassador -- an Easter Seals client from your community. Your support helps make it possible for Easter Seals to provide opportunities for people with disabilities to live with equality, dignity and independence.

Walk to increase disability awareness
Easter Seals Walk With Me provides the opportunity to meet people with a disability, and learn about each person's abilities -- not just their disabilities -- and the obstacles that might get in the way of their independence.
